The Ca' d'Oro is a famous Venetian palazzo overlooking the Grand Canal in the Cannaregio district. Like most of the attractions in Venice, this building cannot be reached by car, and your vehicle should be parked before entering the city's historical centre.

The Ca' d'oro has housed the Galleria Giorgio Franchetti since 1927. Here you can admire several famous paintings such as the San Sebastian by Andrea Mantegna, Judith and the Venus at the Mirror by Titian, and some parts of the frescoes by Giorgione. The museum also houses sections dedicated to ceramics, bronzes, sculptures and bas-reliefs, including the Madonna and Child by Jacopo Sansovino, in addition to various laboratories that are dedicated to restoration and conservation of artworks.

To visit the museum a reservation is required. Tickets cost € 6, with a reduced cost of € 3 for certain categories. The gallery is open to the public every day on Monday from 08:15 to 14:00, and from Tuesday through to Sunday from 08:15 to 19:15. In addition to the works that can be admired internally, the Ca' d'Oro is also magnificent on the outside. Before many of its colours disappeared, Ca' d'Oro was considered one of the finest examples of Gothic style. In addition, many parts of the facade were originally coated with gold, giving the name to the building.
