Where to park in The Heart of Barcelona

Parking the heart of Barcelona is a very complicated task. Most of the streets in the historical centre of Barcelona are pedestrianised to prevent car traffic. However, finding street parking is very difficult. Keep in mind that if you want to park for free, you must go to the outskirts of Barcelona, since tourist areas and the city centre have regulated parking. Barcelona is divided into two colors of regulated parking. The green area is for residents so that they can park more easily. In these parking areas, visitors can also park, but the prices are quite high. On the other hand, the blue area has a time limit of four hours and you must purchase the corresponding ticket beforehand. If you exceed the time limit or didn’t get a ticket, the fees are immediate.

However, at Parclick, we have a myriad of car parks in the heart of Barcelona. As it’s a tourist area, there are a number of monitored car parks downtown. Also, it’s a good way to avoid constant traffic in the centre of Barcelona: you can go straight to your pre-booked parking spot with Parclick, without driving around in circles looking for parking.

The Ciutat Vella, the historic center

The centre of Barcelona is very spacious. You could say that the #1 district, Ciutat Vella, is the most central area in the city. This Barcelona district has a good deal of neighbourhoods, for example, the Gothic Quarter, the Raval, Las Ramblas and the Barceloneta, amongst others. The whole historic centre of Barcelona sits where the ancient medieval city used to be, so there are still remnants of those early years in the Catalan capital that give it a medieval air. The Gothic quarter is one example. During the medieval era, they started to build gothic churches and palaces in the streets, which seem like labyrinths.

If you stroll along the Rambla de los Capuchinos, you can visit some attractions in downtown Barcelona, such as the Gran Teatro Liceo, the Plaza Real or the Güell Park. Also, the Ciutat Vella houses infinite tourist attractions, like the Picasso Museum or the Barcelona Zoo, among others.

If you’re planning to visit downtown Barcelona, we recommend that you book parking with Parclick at the best price. On our platform, you’ll find parking in every area of Barcelona, so you don’t have to worry about finding where to park in such a busy city.
