In just a few years the Auditorium Parco della Musica has become the number one cultural centre in Europe by number of visitors, second only in the world to the Lincoln Centre in New York.
This large auditorium was inaugurated in 2002 and is found in the Parioli district. Each year it hosts a huge number of musical events, shows, festivals and other cultural events covering all sorts of different areas.
Once you know that during the year millions of people will come from far and wide to see one of the concerts at the Auditorium PdM, it shouldn’t be too difficult to hush that little voice in the back of your head saying “What’s the problem? We’ll arrive and park right next door!”.
In fact, for whichever event you choose to attend, you will have a real fight on your hands to find a free parking space nearby as everyone who decided to drive, like yourself, will descend on the area looking for a spot, determined not to miss a second of the concert! To make things worse, there are quite a few other points of interest of Rome in the area, so, as well as the concert-goers, there will be a fair number of tourists thrown into the battle!
The solution is simple really. You can always book your parking near the Auditorium Parco della Musica di Roma with Parclick! If you do this, it won’t matter if you’re the last to arrive, you will have a guaranteed space waiting for you :)
Choose a guarded car park and book with just a couple of clicks. Seeing as you don’t have to worry about your car any more, after the event you could wind down with a little stroll through the park at Villa Glori or a quick visit to the beautiful Ponte Milvio.
Also within range is the Olympic Stadium, the Stadio Flamino and the MAXXI - the National Museum of the 21st Century Arts.
If you’ve had a look at the map and singled out a car park which is cheaper but a bit further away from the auditorium, don’t fret, you can always park there and take line 2 of the tram or the number 910 bus. Please also be aware that the Auditorium is in the Fascia Verde, a limited traffic zone that becomes active when the pollution levels exceed a certain reading, where Euro 0 and 1 petrol cars and 0, 1 and 2 diesel cars can’t enter.
There are 3 concert halls in this new auditorium, in different buildings of different sizes all linked together by an entrance hall, the Foyer, plus 3 recording studios just for good measure.
Also inside are the offices for the Fondazione Musica per Roma and the Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia, plenty of space for everything in almost 55,000 metres squared of building ;)
The construction of the auditorium is the brain child of famous architect Renzo Piano and the list of big names who have been involved with this place does not stop there! So many artists, also with international recognition, have graced the stage, from Einaudi to Allevi, to Baglioni, Ligabue and even Ricky Martin. Lastly, from 2006 onwards, every autumn the auditorium has hosted the Festival Internazionale del Film di Roma.
With names like these, it is clear why there are always so many tickets being sold! Remember when you are feeling indecisive, book your parking online in advance with Parclick ;)
