Parking in Tronchetto

Tronchetto, a.k.a. the Isola Nuova (New Island), is an artificial island on the western edge of the Laguna Veneta. In fact, after this point there is basically no more road to travel on and the Piazzale Roma, as you probably already know, is the only area for parking on the lagoon. No joke!

So, whether you’re coming to Venice for a day, a weekend or even a month, parking at Tronchetto or Piazzale Roma is your only chance to find your car a place to stay! These car parks are also very handy if you are about to set off on a cruise from Venice and want to leave your car somewhere safe, like a guarded car park for example. Venice Port is right next door so you can park, hop straight on the ship and set off on your voyage!

If you’re actually here for the city, good choice by the way, it is as close as you’re going to get to the centre and the main points of interest in your car! The only draw-back is that you will have to deal with the hordes of other motorists, determined to park in as short a time as possible, which can be quite a chaotic and stressful experience, not to mention every tourists nightmare could become a reality… the car parks could be full!

To avoid all of this Parclick recommends that you get ahead of the game and book a parking space in advance (now even!), so you have a guaranteed space ready and waiting for you when you arrive!

If parking near Tronchetto is looking a little on the expensive side, we can always show you some other low-cost options near Stazione di Venezia Mestre, on dry land and after you can just as easily get to the centre without your car. The bus leaves every 10 minutes and you can get on the train for one stop to Stazione di Venezia Santa Lucia.
