The Gare de l’Est is one of the six main train stations in Paris with both national and international destinations. The station is in the 10th arrondissement, just a stone’s throw from the Gare du Nord, and is easily reachable on foot or by metro. There are also several hospitals nearby including Hospital Saint Louis, Hospital Lariboisière and Hospital Fernand Widal.

The Gare de l’Est is also close to the Saint Martin canal and the Villemin garden; through which you could take a peaceful stroll before heading to the station.
