Parking in Eixample

How could you go to Barcelona and not go explore Eixample? It’s practically impossible, this district is located in the heart of the Catalan capital, and it’s also got the highest population density. So you can imagine how buzzing this place is! Sounds pretty cool, right? But there is one downside, finding somewhere to park isn’t so easy… 

On street parking is divided into two zones, the green zone and the blue zone. The green zone is primarily intended for those who are residents of the city, and as a visitor you can only park there for two hours. Then in the blue zone things perk up a bit, you can park for a maximum of 4 hours. On top of this, it’s pretty easy to get fined since you’ve got to make sure you’re adhering to your specific conditions…

Gorgeous Barcelona! 

Barcelona’s beautiful Eixample district is just north of the Paseo de Gracia and the Plaza Cataluña, and its the complete opposite of the Ciutat Vella. You won’t find narrow, winding lanes here, but wide streets and incredibly organised square blocks. Here Catalan Art Nouveau rules the roost, and may we just say, it’s pretty spectacular - there’s just nothing else like it! Think Gaudí, think slightly wacky, think unique! Eixample is more upscale, with famous fashion brands than some of the other areas of Barcelona, so you simply have to go there just to do a tad of window shopping. 

We recommend checking out the Casa Batlló and La Pedrera, as well as just having a stroll and stumbling across the countless art galleries. If you’re more of a night owl then Eixample is perfect for you too! The nightlife is mainly in the west of the district, where you’ll find loads of bars, clubs and delicious restaurants.
