Where to park in Palau de la Música Catalana
Declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1997, this certainly is a must-see in Barcelona. It’s located in Barcelona’s Ribera district, which is right in the centre of the Catalan capital. Now, this does come with a downside… it can be an absolute nightmare to find somewhere to park!
Barcelona’s on street parking is divided into two zones, the blue zone and the green zone. In each zone, it’s different prices depending on if you’re a resident or not, and different amounts of time that you can stay… plus these spaces don’t come cheap, and it’s a pretty easy way to get a fine if you’re not very familiar with the city. If you want to avoid all this hassle and stress of first having to look for a parking space, and then having to understand what you’ve got to pay and the different rules then book your parking in advance with Parclick!
Palau de la Musica
One of Barcelona’s gems of Modernism
This beautiful concert hall was built between 1905 and 1907, and although you may be forgiven for thinking that this is one of Gaudí’s masterpiece, you should know that this was in fact designed by Lluís Domènech i Montaner. The building is built in the modernist style, which is a style was curved lined dominate straight ones. It really is special with a breath-taking façade, the interior is dominated by curves, ceramic flowers, stained glass and intricate mosaics. If you’re an art or an architecture lover, you have to visit!
May we recommend the tour, which is available in English, to really get to understand the history and the true beauty of this building. If you’re lucky enough to have tickets, then prepare to be impressed. It will be pretty spectacular.
Fancy checking out some of Barcelona’s other hot spots? The closest metro station is Urquinaona, which serves lines 1 and 4. The Plaça de Catalunya and Port Vell are super close too!
