Now it’s pretty much a feature on almost every post card of Paris, and is the ideal place for a selfie! 

Once you’ve seen the cathedral you can explore the enchanted streets of Montmartre, where you’ll stumble across the Church of Saint-Pierre, the Calvaire cemetery and, of course, the Moulin Rouge!

How to get to the Sacré-Coeur 

Getting to the Sacré-Coeur by car

If you plan to drive to visit the Basilica of the Sacred Heart, then you will need affordable parking in Paris. But not just any will do! Book a parking space with Parclick and go to the Sacred Heart with complete peace of mind.

To get to the Sacred Heart by car, the easiest way to go is via Boulevard de Rochechouart, or Boulevard de Barbès. You can also look for parking near the Place de Clichy.

Getting to the Sacré-Coeur on public transportation

If you intend to go to Sacred Heart on foot, be prepared to climb the countless steps of Montmartre (it is a hill, remember) and continuously say, “Oh, look, what a nice view of Paris” as an excuse to stop and catch your breath.

Otherwise you can take public transportation and the Montmartre funicular to get to the top of the hill!

• Going to Sacred Heart by metro: Take line 12 to Jules Joffrin, Pigalle or Abbesses stations, or line 2 to Pigalle or Antwerp stations.

• Going to Sacred Heart by bus: Take bus lines 30, 31, 80 or 85. You can also take the Montmartrobus from the metro stations to get to Sacred Heart.
