Where to park in Plaça Nova

Plaça Nova is one of the famous squares that you can visit in Barcelona. It’s in the city’s Gothic Quarter, and it’s said that this is the place where Barcino, the ancient city of Barcelona was first built.

Parking near Plaça Nova can be difficult. Well, in the whole of Barcelona’s Gothic Quarter finding somewhere to park can get very complicated. There are many pedestrian streets, which intermingle with each other, making for a wonderful place to go for a stroll, but to try and find somewhere to park? Let’s just say, it’s not so wonderful.

Plus with Barcelona’s parking zones, the green zone and the blue zone, it’s pretty easy to get confused and let’s just face it? They don’t really lend themselves to enjoying a day or two in the Catalan capital. the green area, you can park for two hours; and the blue area, you can leave your vehicle for up to four hours. But in both options, once your ticket is up after a couple of hours, you have to move your car and find somewhere else to park. Not great, huh?

So we recommend booking with Parclick! WIth Parclick you can look on our map at all the car parks that we have available in Barcelona, and search for one which suits you! Sounds great right? What are you waiting for? Book now!

In the heart of Barcelona’s Gothic Quarter

Barcelona's Plaça Nova is dominated by two Romanesque towers, which were built in the 14th century. The plaza underwent a complete reform in 1940, after the Spanish Civil War. Some buildings were demolished so that it was possible to increase the width of the square and to leave in sight the ancient Roman wall, which has been hidden until this time. So it really does show how old Barcelona is, yes it's one of the leading city's in the world - but it has an ancient past!

In the Plaça Nova of Barcelona you can visit the fantastic Cathedral of Barcelona and marvel at Catalan Gothic grandeur, which really showcases the style of the area. Plus, there’s a Vintage Market every Thursday. Also if you’re feeling peckish, may we recommend having a copa or a cerveza and some tapas on the square, when in Barcelona, live like a local!

Fancy checking out more of Barcelona! Easy! The Jaume I metro station (line 4) is just around the corner from this square!

Make your visit to the Plaça Nova stress-free and book your parking space with Parclick now!
