Where to park in Bastille Day - 14th of July

What is there to do in Paris on Bastille Day? On the French National Day there are many events organised all over France. The Eiffel Tower is definitely one of the best places to be to celebrate this occasion as you will see an extraordinary fireworks display amongst other events throughout this day.

Many people think that it is impossible to park around Paris on Bastille Day and they are not entirely wrong. With Parclick however, we can help you to do just that. Don’t ruin the festivities looking for parking, prebook one of our reasonable and secure car parks to fully enjoy the festivities of the 14th of July.

Finding a parking space in Paris on a public holiday, particularly around the festivities, is far from easy. At Parclick, we can help you celebrate Bastille Day and find affordable parking near the Eiffel Tower or anywhere in Paris to be able to enjoy the Bastille Day Military Parade!

At Parclick, we want you to enjoy these national festivities so we’ve even prepared a programme of activities so you don’t miss a thing!

A programme for Bastille Day in Paris - What to do in Paris for the National Celebration?

Are you wondering how to celebrate the 14th of July in Paris? There are many festivities organised throughout the capital and in France.

There are some events not to be missed on Bastille Day in Paris, which is why at Parclick, we’ll recommend a few of these events in particular whilst solving your parking problems, offering cheap car parks throughout Paris. You don't have to thank us, it's our pleasure!

The Bastille Day Military Parade

At 10:00 am, the President of the Republic will appear on the Avenue des Champs Elysées, ready for the start of the Bastille Day Military Parade of the 14th of July at 10:30 am. The parade is opened by the Patrouille de France, who also provide the aerial display, and finishes at 11:45 am.

If you don’t plan on arriving hours in advance, we’d advise you to reserve your parking space in Paris away from the road closures, to avoid not being able to access your parking, particularly in the area around the Avenue des Champs-Élysées. Also, if you are looking for a place to watch the parade from, we’d recommend the Assemblée Nationale (The National Assembly).

Concert and Fireworks at the Eiffel Tower

Why not go and explore the Eiffel Tower on this day of national celebration? Not only will you see the beautiful structure but you can enjoy the Grand Concert of Classical Music which the area hosts every 14th of July. It is also the perfect opportunity to go to the Champ de Mars and wait for the marvellous firework display surrounding the Eiffel Tower.

We highly recommend that you avoid the area next to the Avenue des Champs Elysées, the Eiffel Tower and the Champ de Mars with your car as the area will be extremely busy and many streets will be closed to traffic. As streets are crowded, you may also prefer not to go too close to these areas by foot.  We recommend to park in our secure car parks towards the outskirts of Paris and use public transport to go to your area of choice.

The Best Places To See The Fireworks in Paris.

At Parclick, we know how much you’d love to have a good view of the fireworks! It can be hard due to the large crowds but we want to recommend to you the best places to see this wonderful Bastille Day event. Conveniently, we can also provide a car park to leave your car whilst you watch the City of Light illuminate with fireworks! Here are our top three recommended places:

  • The Champ de Mars:  You will have a front line view of the beautiful spectacle whilst enjoying the added bonus of the Grand Concert of Classical Music.

  • The Trocadero Gardens: This is a brilliant but popular place to see the fireworks but remember to book your parking space in advance and arrive in plenty of time to avoid disappointment.

  • Parc de Belleville: Although it is further away, here you can enjoy a view of the fireworks in a quieter location, however don’t forget your glasses because you may need them!

The Fireman’s Ball:

The Bastille Day Fireman’s Balls is one of the most iconic events of the national day of celebration. It starts on the evening before the event, the 13th of July, and allows you to dance all night from 9pm to 4am.

  • In the centre of Paris you can go to the Rousseau Barracks (21 Rue du Jour) on the 13th and 14th of July.

  • In the Marais, it is in Sévigné Barracks  (Rue de Sévigné) where you will find the ball between 7pm and 9pm on the 13th and 14th of July.

  • On the Left Bank of the Seine, the ball takes place around the Arènes de Lutèce Barracks (47-59 Rue Monge) on the 13th of July and the Colombier Barracks (11 Rue du Vieux Colombier) on the 13th and 14th of July.

  • Between Cambronne and the Champs-Élysées, you will be able to party at the Grenelle Barracks  (6 Place Violet) on the 13th and 14th of July. There is also an event at Boursault Barracks (27 Rue Boursault) on the 13th of July.

  • In the north of Paris, two barracks will be celebrating the national holiday: on July 13 at the Blanche Barracks (28 Rue Blanche) and also at the Montmartre Barrack (12 Rue Carpeaux).

  • In the south of Paris, you have the choice on the 13th and 14th of July to choose between the Chaligny Barracks (26 Rue de Chaligny), the Port-Royal Barracks (53-55 Boulevard Port-Royal) and on the 13th of July at the Massena Barracks (37 Boulevard Masséna).

  • In the eastern part of the capital, on the 13th of July you can go to the Bitche Barracks (2 Place de Bitche) or the Menilmontant Barracks (47 Rue Saint-Fargeau).

If you don’t fancy the balls, why not go to the Garden Party on 14th of July at the Longchamp Racecourse!

What about the 13th of July?

Why celebrate Bastille Day only on the 14th of July? Festivities and fireworks on 13th of July allow the Bastille Day celebrations to start the night before!

For example, in the town Levallois-Perret there is a RFM Night Fever Event on Friday 13th July, followed by fireworks launched at 11pm.

You can even start celebrating early in Paris by attending the Popular Fireman’s Ball of the 3rd arrondissement in the square of the town hall. A dance floor will be open for both the young and old from 8.30pm and then from 10pm it's the Popular Ball that will take over.

You can also opt for the Pop Ball at the Point Ephémère in the 10th arrondissement, which offers a barbecue and DJ sets until 3am.

People may say that you are crazy to want to bring your car to Paris on Bastille Day! Don’t stress, tell them about Parclick’s offer of affordable, secure car parks throughout Paris which can be booked in advance and they will surely join you!
