The Montjuic Castle is an impressive military fortress built as a look-out tower on top of the Montjuic mountain in 1640, after the famous Catalan Revolt. Back to the past now! During the War of Spanish Succession, between 1705 and 1714, the Castle quickly became a vital asset, but unfortunately it did get damaged. However, after the war the Castle underwent intensive remodelling to resolve any visible defects.
Today, the Castle has become property of the City of Barcelona. Today it houses a complete military museum inside.
