The Museu Nacional d'Art de Catalunya, also known by the acronym MNAC, is found on the Montjuïc in Barcelona. This museum is also made up of remote sites other than this location, but this is the main building. The MNAC, created in 1990

The Museu Nacional d'Art de Catalunya is one of most beautiful museums in Barcelona, with some pretty impressive fountains outside too! Inside, you can admire paintings of all kinds and collections of the most famous artists ever to live and have lived! The MNAC stands out for having one of the most comprehensive collections of Romanesque art in the world, as well as Gothic amongst other styles. 

The Museu Nacional d'Art de Catalunya dates from 1990, when it was founded and acquired collections from the Museum of Modern Art (created in 1945) and the Museum of Catalan Art (created in 1934). In addition to collections from these two museums, a coin collection and a printmaking collection were also added. Also, in 1996, they included a specific department of photography, which now houses over 6,000 images from the beginning of the 19th century to the present day. 

The museum headquarters is known as the Palau Nacional, located at the famous Montjuïc Castle of Barcelona.
