Look for parking in St. Peter's Square

There are few squares in the world as renowned as the St. Peter's Square, which was designed by Bernini and is located at the heart of Vatican City, at the feet of St. Peter’s Basilica.

This square is connected to Via della Conciliazione and receives thousands of people every day which makes it extremely difficult to find a parking space nearby.

As you can imagine, it is not possible to reach St. Peter's Square directly by car, since access to the Vatican area for vehicles is strictly regulated and is only allowed to those who have the valid documented required. Naturally, official cars reserved to the Pope and cars belonging to residents and employees of the Vatican State can circulate freely.

Even for tourist coaches there are several limitations, as they require a permit in order to have a valid access. However, to visit the Vatican, there is no need to drive as it is perfectly accessible on foot.
