Where to park in Ponte della Costituzione
Among the most famous bridges in Venice is certainly the Ponte della Costituzione, which in the historic centre of Venice connects Piazzale Roma to the Venice Santa Lucia train station, crossing the famous Grand Canal.
The Ponte della Costituzione is really important since it connects the only two areas through which you have to pass to reach the historic centre of the city.
As it is known, the historic centre of Venice is connected to the mainland by the long Ponte della Libertà (Liberty Bridge), which can be reached by car, train and bus.
If you’re planning to visit Venice by car you can decide whether to drive along the Ponte della Libertà and then park in Piazzale Roma or whether to just leave your car in a car park in Mestre, and then use the public transport that will take you to Venice Santa Lucia Station. Parking near the Ponte della Costituzione is therefore really simple, since it is located next to the only two areas where you can drive and park in Venice!
Given the large influx of tourists and visitors that go to Venice at any time of year, it is advisable to book online AND in advance for a Piazzale Roma car park or for a parking lot near the Venice Mestre Station, from which you can reach the Venice Santa Lucia Station in 10 minutes by train, and then the nearby Ponte della Costituzione! Parclick helps you with all of this, always offering you the best prices to book a car park in the centre of Venice, for as long as you need, from a day up to a whole month, in case you were to leave for a cruise from the Port of Venice.
Once you leave your car near the Ponte della Costituzione with Parclick, you'll be free to stroll through the city's characteristic alleys, or go by gondola or by the many public waterbuses (vaporettos). Next to the Ponte della Costituzione you’ll find the boat docks for the vaporetto lines 1, 2 and N, which will take you to all the main points of interest in Venice!
Ponte della Costituzione
Fourth bridge over the Grand Canal
The Ponte della Costituzione is one of the four bridges in Venice that cross the Grand Canal, together with the Ponte di Rialto, Ponte degli Scalzi and Ponte dell'Accademia.
Built between 2002 and 2008, the current Ponte della Costituzione is an exclusively pedestrian bridge, designed by the famous architect Santiago Calatrava.
With it being almost 100 metres long, it’s not only useful but also the bridge is a masterpiece of engineering, which is made of steel and glass.
If you want to visit Venice, don't forget to take a walk on the Ponte della Costituzione, from which you can also take beautiful photos of the Grand Canal!
