Where to park in Malasaña

Malasaña is a place in Madrid filled with tradition. It has become so popular that it has started to become known as a neighborhood, even though this section is simply a small part of the Universidad neighborhood – containing many important streets such as the Calle Princesa and the Gran Vía.

In fact, Malasaña is one of the places most similar to the Chueca neighborhood of the Movida Madrileña. It is an area with bars, businesses and stores where the young (and not so young) share a generational culture. For example, this place is the birthplace of Madrid´s “hipster” movement. The long beards and flannel shirts for the men, the oversized black glasses and the retro touch for women can be seen on every corner.

Without a doubt, the most known aspect of Malasaña is the nightlife. With a thousand bars, a new great story starts each afternoon. Every one of the local stores in this area has their own special magic and because of this, there are many people that meet up here at night.

The only drawback of Malasaña is the extremely narrow streets. Walking around is great, but if you live far away and you have to drive, it starts to become a pain. To avoid this headache, we recommend that you check out the interactive map on the Parclick website and look at all the available parking places in the area. You can choose the best spot for you to leave your vehicle in a monitored parking deck for as long as you need.

The Core

Leaving behind the specifics of what Malasaña is and what it isn´t, the thing we can talk about is the heart of the area, the Plaza del Dos de Mayo. This place is crowned by the Monument to Daoiz and Velarde, who formerly carried a sword in his hand and now every weekend, he holds anything from a bouquet of flowers to bottles of beer or whatever other thing passes through the minds of the crazy crowd.

Enjoy the Universidad neighborhood, the Malasaña area or the corner of your world. Whatever you decide to call this section of the city, your only thought is this: every time you want to drive, there will not be a problem because you rely on Parclick. Before leaving your house, you can make a reservation in two minutes, have your choice of parking spots in Malasaña waiting for you and breathe easy, knowing that your car will be well-looked after.
