It was designed by the Japanese architect Arata Isozaki, in celebration of the 1992 Olympic Games in Barcelona. It is considered an architectural gem, as much for its incredible design as the technology it incorporates. After the Olympics, everyone wondered what would become of the Palau Sant Jordi… safe to say the expectations have been surpassed. The Palau now has an international reputation thanks to the celebration of top-level sport and concerts from some of the world’s best artists, amongst other stars in their own rights. It has a capacity of up to 16,159 people when seated for the sporting events and a maximum capacity of almost 18,000 people for concerts. So, any event going on here is bound to have a positively electric atmosphere!
