Vicenza is a wonderful city in the Veneto region, rich in art and history, so much so that it was recognised as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1994: this is why it is a popular destination for tourists! If you plan to arrive by car and are looking for parking in Vicenza, here is some information that may be useful.
You can park in the centre or in a more decentralised car park, you can choose the blue stripes or a covered car park: Vicenza offers many alternatives, depending on your needs!
For example, while the yellow stripes are reserved for residents, if you are a tourist or otherwise a non-resident in the city and you want to park on the street you can use the blue stripes, active from 08.00 to 20.00.
Please note: the historic centre of Vicenza has a Restricted Traffic Zone or ZTL and is monitored by access cameras.
If, on the other hand, you prefer covered and guarded parking immediately outside the ZTL, read on...
The cost of the blue lines varies, depending on proximity to the centre and the ZTL, from 1 to 2 euros per hour.
For public car parks, on the other hand, prices range from €0.50 for 30 minutes onwards, and there are different rates: daytime, evening and night-time, which vary from car park to car park depending on the area of the city.
Finally, for private car parks, prices start from 20€ per day, as in the case of Garage Castello, which offers covered and uncovered parking spaces, is located in Viale Roma (just outside the ZTL) and is also the only guarded car park in the centre of Vicenza.
As always, in short, it depends on what services you are looking for and the type of parking, as well as the time of day!
If, on the other hand, you are looking for parking at the station, it will be useful to know that the official Ferrovie dello Stato Metropark car park costs €1.50 per hour and €6 from 06.00 to 15.00, and is open from 5.00 to 24.00; the monthly season ticket is €80 per month, or €50 for railway season ticket holders valid from Monday to Sunday from 6.00 to 22.00.
You can reach Vicenza from the A4 Turin-Trieste, taking the Vicenza Ovest exit or the Vicenza Est exit, and this is the motorway you will take if you are coming from cities such as Milan and Turin, but also from Venice and Verona; Vicenza can also be reached from the A31, taking the Vicenza Nord exit, if you are coming from the area between Rovigo and Piovene Rocchette.
