The Giuseppe Meazza stadium

One of the most famous sites in San Siro is without a doubt Stadio Giuseppe Meazza home to the clubs of Inter and Milan. The stadium, also known as San Siro stadium, is the most capacious of Italy with its 81,227 seats.

Opened in 1926, San Siro has hosted countless matches, including the most important and international games such as the World Cup, the European Cup and several Champions League matches, such as the finals of 1965, 1970 and 2001. The next Champions League Final will take place right here, on 28 May 2016, between the Spanish teams of Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid. The Meazza stadium is often the venue for events and concerts by famous artists from around the world. In the stadium area, a dedicated space for the Milan hippodrome has been made, and other various horse racing facilities.
