Please note that in this car park you have to leave your keys.
The Parking Garage Internazionale is a wonderful car park in the northern part of Bologna, at Via Galliera 67.
Bologna is a city full of surprises: for example, the more than 60 km long system of canals! You can catch a glimpse of it from the Finestrella in Via Piella, one of Bologna's seven secrets, a 6-minute walk from the Garage Internazionale car park. These canals were built during the Middle Ages to supply the inhabitants with water and allow the circulation of goods; with modernity and the increasing motorisation of the city, the canals were partially walled up and rebuilt.
The Garage Internazionale car park is located in a spot full of attractions: from there you can also visit the Parco della Montagnola, less than 5 minutes' walk away and open to the public since 1664. Its current appearance, however, is the result of reconstruction in the early 19th century. The park houses the ruins of Galliera Castle and the Monumental Staircase designed by Tito Azzolini and Attilio Muggia. Also, if along with parking you also need an overnight stay, the famous I Portici Hotel Bologna overlooks the Parco della Montagnola.
In front of the Park there is also Piazza VIII Agosto, which took its name in 1848 after the victory of the Bolognese against the Austrians in the Battle Montagnola, at the height of the Italian Risorgimento; every Friday and Saturday you can go shopping in the market "La Piazzola", which it hosts.
Also starting from the Parking Garage Internazionale, and continuing your walk for about 1 kilometre, you will soon reach the beautiful Piazza Maggiore and the famous Portici, an impressive UNESCO heritage site and a distinctive sign of the city. Dating back to the Middle Ages, the porticos were originally intended to extend the upper floors of the buildings in the historic centre, and were so successful that Bologna now holds the record for the longest porticos not only in Italy, but in the world!
If you're in a hurry to catch the next train, you can easily reach the Central Station, which is 600 metres from the Garage Internazionale car park. It is Bologna's main railway station and the fifth busiest railway station in Italy in terms of passenger movement; it is located at the southern end of the high-speed line to and from Milan, which opened on 13 December 2008, and at the northern end of three lines to and from Florence, one of which passes through Prato, one through Porretta Terme and Pistoia and the last one is the high-speed line to the Tuscan capital.
As you can see, Bologna is an incredibly varied and fascinating city. Book your place at the Garage Internazionale car park with Parclick and enjoy the city in peace!
