What is the Arena?
The ArenA, renamed the Johan Cruijff ArenA in 2018, is a stadium in Amsterdam Zuidoost. It is the largest stadium in the Netherlands. During competitions it can accommodate 55,865 visitors, during concerts for even 71,000 people. There are eleven entrances, A through M, with the main entrance at E.

In the Netherlands, the ArenA is particularly known as the home stadium of the Amsterdam football club Ajax. Home matches of the Dutch national team are also played there. In addition, other important football matches, large events and concerts sometimes take place here.

Special about the building are the steep stands (37 degrees) that give all spectators a good view. The roof can also be opened or closed and it is equipped with solar panels.

What can you do in the ArenA?
The Johan Cruijff ArenA is a building with different functions. In addition to the football matches, for which you can buy tickets, there are a number of major concerts by well-known artists every year. Examples of artists who will perform or have already performed on stage are Coldplay, Metallica, and Bruce Springsteen. Finally, the skyboxes are partly rented out as office space or conference location.

You can also park at the ArenA and then travel to other parts of the city by public transport. The ArenA offers their stadium tour as a combination ticket with two other popular sights elsewhere in the city. The first combines a stadium tour with the electronic music museum Our House on Amstelstraat, between Rembrandtplein and Waterloopplein. How can the ArenA be reached?
The Johan Cruijff ArenA can be reached by car via the A2. Take the Transferium/Ouderkerk exit on the Amsterl/Amsterdam Zuidoost. Amsterdam Bijlmer Station is also minutes away. In addition to trains, metro lines 50 and 54 also stop here. But beware: do you have to be at entrance A, B, C, D or K? Get off at Strandvliet metro station instead of Amsterdam Bijlmer ArenA metro and train station, so you don't have to walk too far. Because the Bijlmer ArenA bus station is the main bus station in Amsterdam Zuidoost, a large number of regional, city and night buses also stop there and it is connected to the R-net.
