Parking in Alicante

There are a couple things to keep in mind when looking for parking in Alicante. First off, you need to be aware of yellow painted areas on the curbs, as this means no parking is allowed. You also want to make sure to watch for a blue zone when you park. A blue zone means parking is permitted and you pay according to the number of minutes you wish to park for. There are many pay machines throughout the streets, so all you have to do is pay for however long you wish to park and extract the ticket with your leaving time printed. This ticket should be loacted in the inside of your car, on your dash board so that you don't get fined. If you run out of time and you still need to be parked, you will need to pay for more timeat the machines.The times you will have to pay for the blue zone parking are Monday-Friday 9am-2pm and 4pm-8pm in the winter. During the summer, the limit exceeds until 9pm. On Saturdays you have to pay between 9am-2pm all year round.

What to do in Alicante

There are many fun activities you can do in Alicante:

• Santa Barbara Castle: Open daily from 10am-10pm. This castle is easily accessible as there is a lift that takes you directly to the top. For the more adventorous, there is a winding path that takes you to the entrance.

Alicante is very close to Valencia, so you could make a day trip or a weekend trip and get to know more about Valencia. Just like Alicante, there are many things to do in Valenica! You can visit Valencia's central market, where you can shop for fresh goods, but also enjoy some local cuisines such as the classic paella! The beaches in Valencia are also lovely and geat to just go and either take a walk or bring your beach attire and have a nice beach outting. Just like in Alicante, you will also find many shops and brand name stores, perfect for a shopping day. Another popular site to visit is The City of Arts and Sciences. Here, you will find cool museums, and theatres; definetly a worthwile visit.

Alicante's public transport:

Don't worry about how you will get around while visiting Alicante. If you're traveling from the end of one city to another and don't want to walk, take the bus for only around 2 euros. The main bus station in Alicante is located near the city center at Calle Portugal 17; here youll find timetables and can hop on any bus you need. 

If you don't want to take the bus, you can also take the tram. Lines 1,3,4 and 9 will take you near the city and surrounding towns. Tram prices depend on which zone your traveling within, but a single ride ticket cna be as low as 1,35 euro.
