This area is packed with a great variety of places to entertain in all sorts of ways. The hotel looks out over Wertheimpark which is a lovely park right next to the canal, ideal for a bit of relaxation or an afternoon stroll. Just next door are the Botanical Gardens which are a great place to surround yourself with beautiful plants and take refuge from the bustle of the city! 5 minutes in the other direction is the Artis Zoo to help you complete your nature tour of Amsterdam.
Once you’ve had your fill, there is some human culture to experience too! The Dutch Resistance museum is just around the corner, where you can find out everything about the brave men and women who stood up to German invasion in WWII. On the other side of the river are the Portuguese Synagogue and Jewish Historical Museum which tell all about this important part of the community. Last but not least is the Stopera, housing both the city hall and the National Opera & Ballet, the place to be to experience the rich culture of the capital.
