HOW IT WORKS: This is a valet parking service. Drive to the drop-off point at the address indicated on your reservation and the valet company staff will take charge of your vehicle, taking it to be parked in their guarded car park in the outskirts of Amsterdam, where it will remain until you ask for it to be returned.
Remember! This is just the meeting point where the driver will collect your vehicle :)
We’ve been told finding parking near the National Maritime Museum can be difficult so, to help you avoid any trouble trying to find a parking space in this busy area, we recommend our valet service. You can opt for a 6-hour or 12-hour stay or, alternatively, a full day, for as many as 30 days. So, whether you are just briefly stepping aboard, here for a day or taking a long voyage through Amsterdam, we are here to make sure it’s all plain sailing! Simply, drive straight to the Scheepvaartmuseum (same place just the Dutch name!) and a professional driver will take care of your car, moving it to a safe, secure and guarded car park just outside the city centre. Parking in Amsterdam has never been so easy!
What used to be a stockpile for the powerhouse that was Dutch navy is now a scenic waterside museum. Covering 500 years of maritime history, it is crammed full of memories of the good old days when the Dutch East India Company ruled the waves! They have a great variety of interactive exhibitions that are fun for all the family. The collection includes paintings, models and weapons that help to show us how the sea shaped the country that we see today and the influence they had with what was one of the most successful company in history.
One of the most spectacular exhibits is the replica of the Amsterdam, one of the East Indiaman ships that used to travel across the sea on the spice route to India and China. Climb on board and take a step back in time to get a taste of what life was like as part of the crew.
After all that maritime madness we think Mum and Dad deserve a bit of a break and what better place to do it than at Brouwerij ´t IJ. This little brewery is just a few minutes down the road and has a lovely bar where you can sit outside and enjoy some afternoon sun with a truly authentic taste of Amsterdam to hand ;) Some other good places to visit in the area are the NEMO Science Museum, Artis Zoo and the Muziekgebouw aan 't IJ for a bit of evening entertainment.
Seeing as you’ve booked everything else, why not book your parking and park before arriving, for a stress free trip!
