Where to park in Florence

The historic centre of Florence is a limited traffic zone (ZTL), so the key decision is whether to park inside or outside it. With Parclick you can book covered public car parks inside the ZTL, a few minutes' walk from the Duomo, for about €35 a day; these car parks register your number plate so that you can drive in. Car parks outside the ZTL cost about €30 a day and need no authorisation.

Florence ZTL: what drivers need to know

The whole historic centre is a Zona a Traffico Limitato. Cameras at the ZTL gates (varchi) read the number plate of every vehicle that drives through, and entering without authorisation means a fine.

  • Daytime hours (sectors A, B and O): Monday to Friday 7:30am to 8pm and Saturday 7:30am to 4pm, all year round.
  • Summer night ZTL: from the first Thursday of April to the first Sunday of October, the ZTL also applies on Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights, from 11pm to 3am, across all sectors.
  • Car parks inside the ZTL: the car parks inside the ZTL listed on this page register your number plate so that you can drive to them. Check the access instructions on the car park page before you arrive.
