Where to park in Grand Place Brussels
Belgium, Brussels, the Flemish region, the cold, Chips, chocolate - all the clichés that make it so much fun to spend a weekend in Belgium with friends or family. What's more, Brussels is only a three-hour drive from Paris on the motorway. So why wait? All you have to do is book a parking space in Brussels city centre, park around the Grand Place and enjoy the European capital.
The Grand Place
The most emblematic square in Brussels, recognised worldwide by UNESCO for its aesthetic and ornamental richness, strewn with guild houses, the King's House and the Town Hall, it was one of Victor Hugo's favourite squares.
Whatever the season, you can always find something to do here! It is the venue for many events throughout the year:
- Plant market: Monday to Sunday on the Grand-Place;
- Christmas tree and Christmas market: throughout December in the city centre;
- Outdoor concerts: held mainly in the summer outdoors;
- Exhibitions by the Musée de la Ville de Bruxelles: "The Grand Place To Be";
- Carpet of Flowers (every two years): more than 500,000 flowers are brought together to create an extraordinary work of art.
Just for the record, when you're walking around the Grand-Place in Brussels, take a look at the main door of the Town Hall and you'll see that it's asymmetrical. Why is it asymmetrical? Because architects have taken it in turns over the years, and it was difficult to take account of the marshy ground. Ah, it's also Belgium's ground zero... so many surprises in this Grand-Place ;)
In any case, to see all this, you need to park next to the Grand-Place. Remember to book in one of our car parks in Brussels city centre or on the outskirts of the city centre, such as near the European Parliament, so that you can continue on foot or by public transport.
Points of interest around the Grand-Place :
- Manneken-Pis: the "little man who pisses" emblem of Brussels ;
- Musée de la Ville de Bruxelles: the name says it all;
- Brussels-Central station: for a trip to Bruges, the Netherlands or Germany.
