What do blue parking lines mean in Spain?

Valencia, as many other cities in Spain, has blue parking zones as well as other color parking zones. Much of Valencia's parking spaces are regulated by the ORA. There are blue and orange parking zones, which serve to ensure smoother mobility. What is the ORA zone in Valencia divided into?

In Valencia, the ORA is divided into 4 zones with different parking fees (in general, they range between 0.30€ and 3.30€):

  • General Blue Zone: minimum 25 minutes, maximum 2 hours (1,50€).

  • Blue Zone Ciutat Vella: minimum 25 minutes, maximum 2 hours (price between € 0,80-€ 1,70 / hour).

  • Orange Zone Residents: maximum 7 days (working days) at 2,80€, one day at 0,60€.

  • Orange Zone Non-Residents: minimum 25 minutes, maximum 3 hours (3,30€).

In any of these areas, the cancellation of a fine means the payment of 4,00€ to the City Council of Valencia.

The orange area is especially designed for residents, who have reduced fees and rates. Visitors will have to pay the corresponding ticket for a maximum period of two hours. The blue zone, on the other hand, has no restrictions and also allows regulated parking for two hours.

The schedules of the blue zone in Valencia can vary a lot, since they change depending on the area of the city. For this reason, it is very important to read the signs carefully before parking in Valencia.

Valencia has more than 785,000 inhabitants, which makes it the third Spanish city in terms of population, behind Madrid and Barcelona. In addition, it is one of the touristic districts that receive the most visits annually. This happens because it is a city truly worth its while, thanks to its many places of interest.

The south of Valencia has the famous Valencian Albufera that has an interesting history, since it does not belong to the capital, but was bought by the city council in 1911. The Albufera brings economic, cultural and ecological value to Valencia. In addition, it is the first natural park declared in the community.

The historic center of Valencia is one of the largest in all of Spain and it is home to great relics of the monumental and historical heritage of the city. Of course, we could not finish this article without mentioning the most important events in the city of Valencia. Because Valencia not only has some stunningly beautiful areas, but also hosts amazing events!

  • Fallas: the quintessential event of the city of Valencia. The Festival usually begins during the last weekend of February with the act of the Crida (the proclamation). During the two weeks it lasts, the Fallas are made up of many events, such as the Mascletà, an unprecedented firework display that takes place every day of Fallas at two o'clock in the afternoon and is definitely worth experiencing. We cannot forget the Plantà and the Cremà, moments in which the Fallas monuments are raised and burned, and which are part of the collective feeling of Valencia.

  • Festival de les Arts: a festival of reference in the alternative scene of the Spanish music scene. Since 2015, this festival has been taking over the City of Arts and Sciences of Valencia with three different stages and with bands of the highest quality, such as La Habitación Roja, León Benavente, Rozalén, Carlos Sadness or Amaia.

Automatic entry and exit
