Where to park for free in Bordeaux?

If you are looking for free parking in Bordeaux, you can use the parking in the shopping center Mériadeck. You can only leave your car there for a maximum of 1h30. Other than that, parking in the streets of Bordeaux is free on weekdays (Monday to Saturday) from 7pm until 9am the next day. Parking is free all day on Sundays and holidays. Yet, in order to guarantee yourself a secure parking spot, we advise you to book a parking space with Parclick. 

How much does it cost to park in Bordeaux?

In Bordeaux, there are two zones: the red zone and the green zone:

  • The red zone allows you to park for a maximum of 4 hours and 15 minutes, for a fee of 35€. However, 4 hours will cost you 15€ (a quarter of an hour can sometimes be expensive).

  • The green zone also allows you to park for a maximum of 4h and 15 minutes, for an amount of 30€ and staying 4h will cost you 13,60€, which is hardly less than in the red zone. As you can see, it is still particularly expensive to park on the street. Parking on the street is ultimately quite expensive and does not allow you to stay more than 4h15, which will cause you a problem if you plan to enjoy taking your time during your visit to Bordeaux. The Chaban-Delmas stadium is a stadium located in Bordeaux, on Johnston Square. It hosts the rugby matches of the Union Bordeaux Bègles (UBB), which is the local club since June 2015. With a capacity of more than 34,000 seats, the Chaban-Delmas stadium is the 11th largest in France.

If you are attending a UBB match at the Chaban-Delmas stadium, you can park in a cheap car park a few steps from tram line A and then get to the stadium in a few minutes.   • The Arkéa Arena

Ready to welcome nearly 11,300 spectators, the Arkéa Arena in Bordeaux is a concert hall located in Floirac and where you can go from Bordeaux by taking the Arkéa Arena shuttle bus from Porte de Bourgogne and Stalingrad. By parking in the centre of Bordeaux, you will avoid the other 11,299 spectators expected on the road, since you can go directly with the shuttle from the centre of Bordeaux!

  • The Mériadek ice rink

The Mériadek ice rink is a must in Bordeaux, as it hosts shows, concerts, ice hockey games and offers its visitors the opportunity to skate on an Olympic-sized track. If you attend a concert at the Rock Scholl Barbey, remember to book your parking space in advance. The André Meunier car park is only 4 minutes from the concert hall, so enjoy it!

  • Independent Film Festival

Every year in October, Bordeaux hosts the Bordeaux International Independent Film Festival. During 5 days, you will find more than 50 film screenings, meetings, masterclasses, concerts and exhibitions that will take place at Cour Mably, at the Utopia, at the Trianon Theatre and at Palmer Rock. If you are attending this festival, book your parking space in advance.   • Reggae Sun Ska Festival

The Reggae Sun Ska Festival is the largest French Reggae festival. It takes place every year in August and takes place on the university campus of Pessac-Talence-Gradignan. If you are attending the Reggae Sun Ska Festival, park in a secure car park and use the B tramway to get to the university campus. Where to park if you are going on a trip from Bordeaux?

Park near Saint-Jean Station

Bordeaux has a railway station: the Saint-Jean station. It is the largest station in the Region and serves Spain, the Bassin d’Arcachon, Paris and many other cities in France. If you take the train from Bordeaux, you will certainly need a secure and cheap car park next to the Saint-Jean station. We particularly recommend Lianes 1+. This high-frequency line connects the airport with Gare Saint-Jean and has several stops in downtown Bordeaux. La Lianes 1+ runs 7/7 days a week from 5am to 12:30am or 1:15am on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays at a rate of one bus every 10 minutes.
