You can find the Place du Trocadéro in Paris’ 16th arrondissement, just a couple of minutes walk from the Eiffel Tower. Here you can enjoy a picnic with friends, admire the Eiffel Tower (we must add, this is one of best places to take a selfie with the Eiffel Tower in Paris!), or explore the Jardins du Trocadéro!

The Place du Trocadéro-et-du-11-Novembre or simply Place du Trocadéro is located in the 16th arrondissement of Paris, on the right bank of the Seine and on the hill of Chaillot, just a few minutes’ walk from the Eiffel Tower. It was named after the fortress of the same name in the bay of Cádiz, which was conquered by the French army on 31 August 1823. On the hill of Chaillot, until 1937, the Palais du Trocadéro was also demolished - just in time for a world exhibition. So today you have a clear view of the Eiffel Tower with the Champs-de-Mars and the École Militaire behind it!

The Place du Trocadéro is lined with trees and in the middle there is the beautiful Fontaine de Varsovie, or the Warsaw Fountain, and a statue of Marshal Foch on horseback. We really do recommending fitting in a bit of time to watch the beauty of this fountain. Get away from the hustle and bustle of the city, whilst enjoying the beautiful terraces and sculptures.

Now if the weather isn’t the best, check out the Paris Aquarium or some of the many, and we mean lots, of museums nearby.

Plan on parking your car and continuing with public transport? Then take the metro lines 6 and 9 to the Place du Trocadéro. The important main roads nearby are: Avenue du Président-Wilson, Avenue Kléber, Avenue Raymond-Poincaré, Avenue d'Eylau, Avenue Georges-Mandel and Avenue Paul-Doumer.
