A trendy centre of modern art - near the Eiffel Tower

The Palais de Tokyo, a contemporary museum, was opened in 1937, during the Paris World Exposition. The large Art Deco building in the 16th arrondissement consists of two different museums: the Musée d'Art Moderne de la Ville de Paris in the east wing and the Création Contemporaine museum in the west.

The Musée d'Art Moderne de la Ville de Paris has a collection of more than 10,000 works of art from the twentieth century, from paintings to sculptures to photographs. Discover the unique works of Henri Matisse, Fernand Léger, Pierre Bonnard and many other famous artists!

The site of the Création Contemporaine - the current Palais de Tokyo - is located in the west wing of the museum. Here you will find out about young, modern and dynamic art like street art. Our top tip for you: from the Tokyo Eat restaurant, you have a very good view of the Eiffel Tower. Brought something from home? No worries!
