An 18th century theatre facing the gardens of the Palais-Royal

The theatre of the Palais Royal in Paris is located on the Rue de Montpensier right in central Pairs. It was in 1784 that the first spectacle was put on for the buzzing Parisian audience. In fact, this theatre has undergone a long series of changes of names up to the present day, having been in turn the Beaujolais Theatre, the Montansier Theatre, the Theatre of the Peristyle of the Égalité Garden, and in 1831 it finally was decided that this theatre would stay the Palais Royal theatre.

The theatre has a room with a capacity of 716 seats. Thanks to its flamboyant architectural style, this luxurious theatre will take you straight back to the Ancien Régime. Unsurprisingly, it has been listed as a Historical Monument since 1993. Plus, the Palais Royal Theatre has a beautiful restaurant, where you can dine at the end of the show. All whilst knowing your car is parked in one of Paris’ best car parks.

Around the Palais-Royal you will find the Comédie-Française Theatre, the Louvre Museum and its famous Pyramid, the Brongniart Palace, the Notre-Dame-des-Victoires Basilica. And of course, you can take a few steps in the garden of the Palais Royal, since the theatre overlooks this historic garden. In addition, this district is very packed with cafés, hotels and restaurants. The Seine is a 10-minute walk away, allowing you to walk along the Quai François-Mitterrand to the enchanting Ile de la Cité.

If you plan to enjoy one or more shows at the Palais-Royal theatre, we strongly advise you to reserve your parking space near the Palais-Royal in Paris with Parclick. Save time and save money!
