NOTICE: The Carnavalet - History of Paris Museum is under construction. Reopening is planned for Spring 2020.
Do you want to know more about the history of Paris? Are you interested in the French Revolution? If so, the Carnavalet Museum is for you. Located on rue des Franc-Bourgeois in the heart of the Marais district in Paris, the hotel that once housed the Marquise de Sévigné offers thousands of objects, paintings and models to discover.
Before coming to visit the Carnavalet museum, if you plan to come to Paris by car, you need to find out where to park around the Carnavalet museum (it has to be said, parking in the Le Marais district is not easy).
The Carnavalet Museum
It is through reconstructed decorations from the 17th to the 20th century that we can discover the heritage of Paris' history. With hundreds of rooms, memorials, everything is done to make visitors feel "as they were in the past" and enjoy the richness of the place. Consisting of two hotels and a museum, you can then wander freely throughout the museum!
