Religious building & historic monument

The oldest mosque of the city, The Paris Mosque was opened in 1926 and is today in the Latin Quarter (5th arrondissement), between the rue Daubenton, the rue Georges-Desplas and the rue Geoffroy-Saint-Hilaire. Its main entrance is at 2bis Place du Puits de l'Ermite.

The mosque has been registered in the Register of Historical Monuments since 1983. It must be said that it is worth a look. Inspired by Moroccan architecture, it extends over 7500 square metres. The mosque is actually more than a mosque, since there is also a library, a conference room and annexes - including a tea room and a hammam. This set will delight lovers of Arab and Muslim culture, especially tourists since they will find the Garden of Plants next door - with the Museum of Natural History and the Great Gallery of Evolution in particular.

Useful Info: The Arab World Institute is a 15-minute walk from the mosque.

If you arrive by car, do not forget: Parclick offers several car parks in the 5th arrondissement, for your comfort :)
