Austerlitz Station (officially known as "Gare de Paris-Austerlitz”) is one of the main stations in Paris. It serves a large part of the South and the South West; particularly Orleans, Bourges, Limoges, Toulouse and Nice. In addition to being an SNCF station, Austerlitz Station is crossed by the RER line C which runs along the Seine and leads to Invalides and the Eiffel Tower.

This station is also served by two metro lines (5 and 10), which connects it to some squares such as Place d'Italie and Place de la Bastille, to the Sorbonne and to the Gare de l’Est.

Austerlitz Station is surrounded by several main tourist spots in Paris which can be reached on foot or by metro. Some of them include: Gare de Lyon (classified as a historic monument), AccorHotels Arena (or Bercy Arena), Pitié-Salpêtrière hospital, Pierre and Marie Curie University,  Jardin des Plantes and even  Bibliothèque Nationale de France close to the Seine. As a result, parking in this area can be quite difficult particularly when an event is taking place at Bercy Arena.
