The 14th arrondissement of Paris is one of the 20 arrondissements of Paris and  in the same way as the other arrondissements, it is divided into four districts: the Montparnasse District (in the north of the arrondissement), the Plaisance District, the Parc-de-Montsouris District and the Petit-Montrouge District. It is located at the southern end of the capital, north of the Boulevard Périphérique. The areas boundaries to the east are found on Rue de la Santé and to the west on Rue Vercingétorix, which runs parallel to the railway lines which lead to the Gare Montparnasse Station (which is located on the boundary between the 14th and 15th arrondissements). To the north, it is Boulevard du Montparnasse and Boulevard de Port-Royal that mark the limits of the arrondissement.

Some of the major roads in the 14th arrondissement include Boulevard Jourdan and Boulevard Brune (Boulevards des Maréchaux), Rue d'Alésia, Avenue du Maine and Avenue du Général-Leclerc which meet at Place Victor-et-Hélène-Basch. Other important roads include Boulevard Saint-Jacques, Avenue Denfert-Rochereau, Boulevard Arago, Boulevard Raspail and Avenue René-Coty which meet at Place Denfert-Rochereau.
