Where to park in Your typical party guide for a weekend in Madrid

We all know that Spaniards just love a FIESTA! So we thought it was important to give you a little guide to the nightlife here for your weekend in Madrid!

First things first, whether it’s Friday or Saturday you need to start your night somewhere. What’s better than going to a bar or 3 before you head for a boogie? ;)

Although you will find all sorts of bars all over Madrid (it’s a capital city, of course there are bars!), the neighbourhood you’ll really want to explore is Malasaña! There you will find so many quirky, unique bars and we’re going to give a few musts which we have personally tried so you can trust they won’t disappoint:

  • Ojalá - like most bars, this is also a restaurant so it’s a win-win situation if you happen to be hungry before your big night out. When you enter this bar/restaurant it may seem like your average bar but downstairs there is a surprise! It’s called the beach! The floor is sand! The lighting makes you feel like you are sipping a mojito on some beach a million miles away from all your problems!

  • Lolina - this bar is really special, the cocktails are just incredible and the vintage theme is something that makes you really relaxed and ready to enjoy the rest of your evening. It’s a great place to catch up with a friend, as it’s also a café in the day time!

  • Macera - you can’t go wrong with this classy gin bar! Not only do they have endless flavours of gin, but also they do lush cocktails too.

So we’ve covered the nice bars. What about a little boogie? Well since your in Spain, we can’t let you miss a classic ‘chupito’ bar! These are bars which do endless varieties of shots! A good place to try out is Commo - it has a very Spanish feel and when you go downstairs, you have a whole blackboard of shots to choose from! The ones that are on fire are the best!

Now you’re ready for a big night out! Two places you can’t miss are Teatro Kapital and Teatro Barceló! Although a little pricey (generally around 20€ for entrance and a drink), these nightclubs are amazing! Kapital has 7 floors and many different types of music to suit your taste, while Barcelo has one main floor with really great music that everyone loves! On the other hand, we all know that techno music is becoming more and more popular nowadays, and for this you could try Mondo Disko or Goya Social Club! If you’ve hopped on that plane just because you heard Despacito and now you just love reggaeton music, try Green Club, it’s not too pricey either!

Ok, so we’ve covered the nightlife in Madrid, but what about if you love to party so much that you want to do it even in the day time...would you believe me if I told you you can party all day long on a SUNDAY?! Yes it’s true, Madrid has a special event called After Brunch (how fitting?!) which runs nearly every other Sunday in different cool locations such as Retiro, Reina Sofia Museum...and many more! This is the perfect way to spend a sunny Sunday if you’re a party animal!

So there you have it, although of course there are so many options to explore, here you have a basic guideline to your party weekend in Madrid! Cheers to the weekend!
