Barcelona's famous Plaça Reial (Royal Square) is in the heart of the city’s Gothic Quarter and just east of La Rambla. As you imagine, it isn’t easy to find somewhere to park in the centre of the Catalan capital finding somewhere to park can be pretty difficult, as there are quite a few pedestrian areas, where cars just aren’t allowed. Plus, on street parking spaces are divided into either green and the blue zone, so there’s lots of rules, lots to pay and it’s pretty easy to get fined too.

In the blue zone, parking is possible for a maximum of four hours, while in the green zone you can park for just two hours. To avoid all this mess, just book your parking with Parclick! Take a look at our map to see all of our car parks in the Gothic Quarter, as well as the whole of Barcelona!

Barcelona’s Royal Square (Plaça Reial)

In the heart of the Gothic Quarter

No wonder, because the fountain, the street lamps and exotic palm trees simply create such a great vibe that you just have to experience. It’s a popular place to be!

The square was built in the mid-19th century by architect Daniel Molina in neoclassical style, it’s pretty gorgeous. However, the beautiful lampposts standing there were designed by the then young Antoní Gaudí. In the heart of the square is the famous Fountain of the Three Graces (Fuente de las Tres Gracias).

This royal square is only a short distance from the main attractions of Barcelona, making it a perfect starting point for visiting other well-known sites. Within a few minutes' walk, you can reach the Cathedral of Barcelona on the famous Pla de la Seu square.
