Where to park in Barcelona

With Parclick you can book a space in over 200 car parks across Barcelona, almost all of them covered and most open 24 hours. In the city centre, around Plaça de Catalunya, a full day usually costs €15; in the rest of the city, about €12. You see the total price before you pay and your space is guaranteed when you arrive. For street parking, you can also pay Barcelona's blue and green zones from the Parclick app.

The best place to park in Barcelona depends on how long you stay: for up to 2 hours, street parking or any public car park works; for a full day or more, a booked car park outside the very centre usually costs less and has no time limit.

Barcelona parking prices

For up to 4 hours, prices are close across the city: about €5–6 for up to 2 hours and €10 for up to 4. The difference appears when you stay longer: in the centre, 3 days usually cost about €48, compared with €35 in other neighbourhoods.

Cheap parking in Barcelona

If you are looking for cheap parking in Barcelona and need more than 4 hours, book the full day: in most neighbourhoods it costs about the same as 4 to 12 hours (€12). For stays of two days or more, car parks outside the centre usually cost less (see the table above). To avoid driving into the city at all, a park and ride car park lets you leave the car on the outskirts and continue by public transport.

Parking in Barcelona city centre

The city centre, within about 1.5 km of Plaça de Catalunya, covers Ciutat Vella and the central Eixample. Short stays cost about the same as elsewhere; from a full day onwards, the centre is more expensive. For popular spots, see parking near the Sagrada Família, parking near Camp Nou and parking near Sants station.

Long-term parking in Barcelona

For an overnight stay, a 24-hour car park is the simplest option: a full day usually costs €12–15. For a week, a car park in the centre usually costs about €80 and one in another neighbourhood about €60. The price for your whole stay is fixed when you book, and most car parks are open 24 hours. If you are flying or taking a cruise, see Barcelona airport parking and cruise terminal parking.

Blue and green zone parking in Barcelona

Street parking in Barcelona is run by the city's AREA system. Non-residents can park in blue zones (Àrea Blava) and green zones (Àrea Verda) for the maximum time shown on the street sign, usually 2 hours, so street parking does not work for a full day or an overnight stay.

  • Blue zone: usually paid on weekdays from 9:00 to 20:00; in some central areas also on Saturdays, and in some beach areas also on Sundays and public holidays during the summer season.

  • Green zone: mainly for residents. Non-residents pay from 8:00 to 20:00 (22:00 in some areas), Monday to Friday or Monday to Saturday depending on the street.

  • Price: the hourly rate depends on the zone and on your car's environmental label; you see it before you pay.

  • Paying: at the parking meter or from an authorised app, including the Parclick app, which lets you extend your time from your phone.

Free parking in Barcelona

Free street parking in central Barcelona is hard to find: most streets are blue, green or resident-only zones. Parking is free outside the regulated hours shown on each sign, and in resident-only spaces regulated from 8:00 to 20:00, non-residents can park free from 20:00 to 8:00. For a day or longer, a booked car park is the safer option, with no time limit and no risk of a fine.

Low Emission Zone (ZBE) in Barcelona

Barcelona has a Low Emission Zone, the ZBE Rondes, which covers most of the city. On weekdays from 7:00 to 20:00, only vehicles with a Spanish DGT environmental label (0, ECO, C or B) can drive inside it. Cars registered outside Spain do not have a Spanish label, so they must be registered in the Metropolitan Register of Foreign Vehicles before entering the zone during those hours.
