If so, we think you´d really enjoy a weekend in Barcelona. This city is full of Modernism style, which is a real treat for your eyes for a special weekend away.

There are so many reasons to visit Barcelona. Not only can you go there for a relaxing beach break, but you can also get so much more from this stunning city. It is home to one of the world´s best football teams, and there is so much history to explore in the historic centre of the city. With it being the 21st century, you´ll be happy to know that in Barcelona there is plenty of free Wi-Fi spots, so you don´t have to worry about not being able to post those sunny social media posts that you´re planning. If you´re feeling wild and free, Barcelona is your place for a great night out too!

What can you do there?

You only have a couple of days to enjoy this amazing city, so you´ll want to wake up early to make the most of everything there is to do here. Nonetheless, if you aren´t a morning person, don´t worry as there is so much to do in the evenings…especially on the weekend! You should try out La Terrrazza for a great nightlife experience. We´ve put together a few recommendations for you to choose from, to maximise your weekend in Barcelona.

So as we mentioned, it´s not all about the beaches and the beverages. Barcelona has so much to offer. What better way to start your weekend than by getting your bearings with a trip to Parc Guell. From Parc Guell, one of Gaudi´s most famous creations, you can see the most beautiful views in Barcelona. From here, you can see one of Gaudi´s other gorgeous creations – the Sagrada Familia cathedral. The park requires a small entrance fee of €7, a small price to pay for the gorgeous views you will experience. It also includes entry to a Gaudi museum, where you can see some of his best pieces. So for you culture lovers, this could be something really special for you.

Everyone knows Barcelona, right? So surely there is a commercial centre and some important streets that you won´t want to miss out on. Yes, that´s right. You can now head over to La Rambla and Passeig de Gracia. On these busy streets you´ll find the finest restaurants and bars and shops - needless to say they are filled with tourists, so you can mix with people from all over the world.

If you´re only there for the weekend, you´ll definitely need some dinner recommendations. If you are looking for some fine dining experience, try Uma in the Eixample district. To get stuck in with some classic Catalan cuisine, we would recommend trying Agut, Cal Boter or Can Culleretes…among many more.

You can´t beat a good breakfast recommendation for a Sunday morning, and we recommend to you Els Quatre Gats. This is in a modernist building that will really make you feel like you´re in Barcelona…well you will be in Barcelona! Lucky you! You have to make sure you take a wander from Portal de l’Àngel to Plaça Catalunya where you´ll find some amazing shops and see the best Modernist architecture. Something we´re sure you´ll enjoy is Casa Amatller, which houses a small chocolate museum. YUM!

So we´ve given you some random and cultural recommendations, but don´t forget one of the main attractions in Barcelona is the beach! So if you just want to chill out all weekend catching a tan that´s just fine too! In particular, we recommend Barceloneta beach, Nova Icaria beach and Bocatell beach…but you have so much choice beyond that! Just remember to check the weather forecast before you go ;)
